YouthTIDE
What is YouthTIDE
For much too long, public perception and understanding of the word Trauma has been limited to extreme, highly visible and loud cases. This narrow perception has created a dangerous blind spot we at the Global Initiative Alliances have recognized-countless youth and members of the public experience what we call “everyday trauma” that go unrecognized. These experiences include parental divorce, emotional neglect, chronic family conflict, academic pressures, economic instability and more that are commonly perceived by the public as simple problems that may be viewed as ordinary on the surface, yet their cumulative impact on developing minds may be profound. The misconception that trauma must be catastrophic and loud to be valid has left a foundation for a generation of youth to struggle in silence, issues minimized or dismissed as part of a growing experience.

Our Mission
YouthTIDE is dedicated to transforming this perception, how we recognize, understand, and respond to trauma in youth minds. We focus upon expanding Trauma literacy throughout diverse communities, families, and youth themselves about the full spectrum of traumatic experiences rather than loud trauma. The subtle yet significant forms that often go unnoticed. With such literacy we dismantle harmful narratives surrounding trauma as a fear mongering condition, instead, promoting trauma as a treatable and healing experience for developing minds. We provide tools, resources, and other materials we designed to identify trauma responses in youth, and provide solutions we believe can better help manage these subtle traumas.

Big Picture Plan
YouthTIDE creates easy to use toolkits that help kids understand their feelings and learn how to manage stress in healthy ways. Each kit includes storybooks that reflect real life situations, calming cards with simple advice, and stress relief items like fidget toys. The goal is to help kids build emotional strength, feel supported in their daily lives, and grow more confident in expressing their emotions. Everything is designed to be kid friendly and supportive, making mental health easier to talk about and understand.

Elementary Toolkit & Design
YouthTIDE’s Elementary Toolkit is made for young kids to help them build basic reading skills and learn how to handle tough emotions. It includes trauma scenario cards with simple advice, fun DIY stress toys, and three unique coloring books based on real situations. Each part of the kit is designed to teach kids about mental health in a positive way

Beyond the Playgrounds
What is Beyond the Playgrounds?
Beyond the Playgrounds was created in direct response to the voices of rural youth and families. Rather than imposing outside ideas, we began by listening to what these communities said they needed most. Together, we built a platform that empowers rural youth to explore the knowledge that directly shapes their lives.

Our Mission
Website Sections & Design
Beyond the Playgrounds is committed to continuously being updated to make sure that our information is both accurate and as current as possible. We know that as times are changing, more important information is released every second. It can be hard to find the things you are looking for in such a vast internet. And so we compiled much important information in a place with easy access. This is our mission: to make sure that anyone who is confused or overwhelmed by the internet can visit our site and learn. With this easy access, we hope to create a new standard for internet usage and one that starts with proper knowledge and ends with safety on this vast ocean.

The websites are divided into 5 distinct categories; three are shown here. The information stretches from health to societal issues, with each section having specific articles about a particular topic, such as preventative health, which has an article on oral health. We wrote these articles with children in mind, so all of our sections, although it is very in-depth, are written clearly and simply so it is easy to understand for both children and adults.

The Open Minds Podcast
What is the Open Minds Podcast?

The Open Minds Podcast is a unique collaboration between the Global Initiatives Alliance (GIA) and members of The Miracle Project. It creates a shared space where neurodivergent and neurotypical communities engage as equals. Each episode allows both the Miracle Project and GIA to not only speak openly about the realities of their lives but include different communication modalities into the mix.

Our Mission
What makes this project distinctive is the element of reciprocity. GIA members not only listen but also participate in special episodes where they reflect on the insights they have gained and the ways their perspectives have evolved. Through this exchange, leadership takes on new meaning, shaped by collaboration and mutual respect. The podcast highlights the strengths and growth of both communities, revealing aspects of neurotypical leadership and allyship that are often unseen. It is a model for authentic collaboration and community building

Equity Play
What is Equity Play?
Equity Play was created as an economic simulator built to reflect real-life situations faced by foster youth aging out of the system. This RPG game allows users to go through the many challenges of life, economic and social, and interact with different individuals, which makes life nuanced and unique.

Our Mission
Equity Play is committed to making sure that our game is based in reality and sheds light on real experiences that some foster youth have to face. Although our many characters in the game share their fictionized account, it is based on real-life resources that allow us to create a very realistic simulation. Equity Play highlights both the ups and downs of life, which allows foster youth to experience the effects of their actions without living through it themselves.

Game Sections & Design
Creating a game for the 15–18 age group can be an effective and engaging way to learn because it combines fun and interactivity. Unlike a traditional course, which might feel rigid or repetitive, a game encourages active participation and keeps players interested through challenges, rewards, and exploration. This approach not only makes learning more enjoyable but also helps students stay motivated and retain information more effectively. Additionally, different parts of the game can be designed to reflect specific real-life situations, offering deeper insight and allowing players to apply what they’ve learned previously.
